Relion meters and strips - going to the USA

I'm going to the USA for Thanksgiving to visit an Aunt. I just looked up pricing for your Relion BG meters and strips at walmart. The strips are 30$ cheaper for 100 than here in Canada. So with the meter at 10$ I'd be saving 20$ right off the bat. I could load up on test strips. How long are they good for unopened? Anyone know?

They're good for six months from opening according to the side of mine.

There is probably an expiration date on the boxes for unopened containers of strips. Many stripes can be used past expiration date, but don't count one it.

No I didn't do a currency conversion. Still would be much cheaper even buying the meter.

It was $79 for 100 strips for the one touch mini and $83 for the accucheck nano 100 strips at Walmart up here.

(PS. I unfortunately get paid in US Dollars - so I wouldn't be losing money converting it to Canadian - so more savings here too).

The box I bought a few days ago has an expiration date of 11/2011. They should be good until the expiration date, so a year or so?
