I know that the Relion Prime is the meter a lot of people are using now. Has anyone heard if they plan to continue to carry this meter and strips at Walmart? Since they discontinued the other model a few months ago just wondering if this one will stay and strips will be available. I was confused about these strips from looking at the box, almost looked like the blood had to go in the center of strip and I thought that seemed a difficult way to get a sample. Then I watched a video and saw it draws blood at the end of strip. Also .5 is not at much as I was thinking, so this one may be an option.

Has anyone found any problems with the Prime model?

Anyone heard of a replacement coming for the one that was discontinued that everyone seemed to like?

Was going to go Freestyle because I really liked the AT meter and strips, just can’t stomach the cost anymore and even Freestyle is more than the Relion.

I use the ReliOn Prime, and I really like it. I haven't heard anything about the strips being discontinued. I generally scoop a bit of blood on to my nail, and the little strip does a good job of sipping it right off. And I found the meter to be reliable, as I take my own BG level on it now too. I'm not diabetic, but I'm pre-diabetic and I'm trying to get it under control. I've used the One Touch meter, and ReliOn Prime gets numbers almost identical to that meter.

Thanks. This cat is costing me a fortune, lol.

I use ReliOn Prime and find it very easy to use now that we have the hang of it. Dad still struggles to get the 'sip' angle, but we're working on it. We picked up our meter and strips at walmart just a few weeks ago in store. I certainly hope they don't discontinue!
