Two nights ago Snickers dropped to nice green numbers (with one low at 44). I was told she earned a reduction but then the next day she was in the yellows and yesterday she went to the pinks (and had a SUPER stressful night). Does she still do a reduction?

Yes...she earned the reduction down to 1.25 and you should have gone ahead and taken it the next morning.

She's bouncing now from going so low and her liver releasing stored sugar and hormones to bring her back up. Bounces can take up to 3 days (6 cycles) to clear, but when they earn a reduction, you should take it and try not to focus on the higher "bounce" numbers.

IF they bounce high enough, it's OK to keep the same dose ONE more time (we call it "shooting through the bounce") but then the next cycle you should reduce. By shooting through the bounce, you give the higher dose once more just to help them get through it and hopefully start coming down sooner.

It's possible that last night she went low again and is bouncing again today...Since you didn't get any tests after the PMPS last night, we can't know what might have happened, but that may very well be why she was pink this morning

If you reduce, and after they're done bouncing they don't come back down into good numbers, you go back up to the last "good" dose

I will reduce her tonight to 1.25. There was no testing her last night. She completely flipped out at my mom's and I didn't dare try and test her when we got home at 1:30am. I have many battle wounds today.

Sorry to hear Snickers (and you) had such a tough night!!

Sure would help if they'd understand we're really trying to help them! Most of our kitties do learn to accept the testing, but some take longer than others

She freaked because it was either take her to my mom's house and still shoot her or skip it. I didn't want to skip so I took her. She apparently hates my mom with the fire of a thousand suns (there aren't many people she does like, lol). I was carrying her out to the truck to go home and she had an epic meltdown when she saw her.
