? Reduce or not to reduce that is the question

I know you reduce when you get a 40 or below on a test.
But what about a 44 ?
Claudio tested at 44 at +5.5.
50 at +5.75
52 at +6
He had his lunch before the test. So I don't know if these numbers are a food spike.
He is on 4.5U of lantus presently.

Given that Claudio is still considered a newly diagnosed diabetic (diagnosis less than 1 year ago), you can reduce at under 50.
