I just injected the vet prescribed 0.25 vitamin B12 into my cat's scruff of the neck but now the site is red, is that normal? I know the vitamin is red but not sure if i'm seeing the medicine since it's subcutaneous or it's a reaction? I'm nervous that this isn't normal!!

Thanks,
Katy

It probably is normal. I give myself B12 injections and occasionally it leaks out from the injection site. My skin will turn red.

Have you tried to see if it will wash off? Also, is there any swelling? If there is any swelling, you may want to ask your vet about it.

Thanks for the replies! Skin is back to normal today, no swelling or anything. Just was being paranoid as usual with her.
