911 Recently diagnosed kitty very lethargic, slow moving and his eyes very cloudy

Hi all, Panda was diagnosed 3 months ago and yesterday he was acting very lethargic, he does have higher than normal sugar right now but all in yellow stage - although it's been a straight curve (nadir's not going into blue)

Today, his eyes are extremely cloudy, he gets cloudy eyes here and there, usually when he's acting slow, i always thought it was related to "pain" from dibates. Today though, they are extremely cloudy and it feels like he's not able to open his eyes, he's acting very lethargic and slow moving. He's like meowing in a very quiet, non-audible way for my attention.

- He's eating and drinking normally, he's excited to eat, but he's mostly sleeping otherwise.

Today all the vets are closed but i'm wondering if there's anything i should do for now, or just keep monitoring. I'd like to avoid a emergency hospital visit today if possible and my vet should be able to see us tomorrow.

Can you check his ketones level? How is his appetite? The cloudy eyes worry me. If this is a change for today, I'm afraid an ER visit may be best. Can you at least call them and see what they think?

Diabetes is not a painful disease, though some cats get neuropathy.

I just tested for ketones and no ketones. He’s eager to eat still but his sugar is higher than normal. He gets cloudy eyes here and there. I asked the vet before and he mentioned it was probably upper respiratory related.

Today his eyes are especially cloudy combined with overall lethargy. Although he’s moving around more the past hour

Good luck with a vet visit tomorrow. Maybe they should also check his blood pressure? Is he showing any other upper respiratory signs? Herpes can impact eyes, but what you describe sound pretty severe and is probably painful. I have a kitty who gets herpes eyes, but it also waters and she squints when she gets an episode. I keep eye drops on hand for her in case it happens on a weekend.

Thank so much @Wendy&Neko ,as usual it's always great to hear from you, we are going to Vet in half hour.

His eyes and movements improvement alot but still not back to normal. Yeah it sounds like similar to your kitty. When Panda was squinting, it almost looked like mucus was getting wiped out of eyes and coming out. Also he was sneezing for a week or so but he usually sneezes when i think he's excited (i come home, or i'm about to feed him)

I wasn't able to attach a file here but i created a public google photobook that shows his pictures from last night and a short video. There's also a reference pic of him with clear eyes. If you can take a look:

I will mention herpes and blood pressure to the vet.

His eyes look gunky and his face looks puffy.

Another thing to look at would be his teeth, if the vet says there's no herpes. George got a bit like that, I thought he had an eye infection but it turned out it was a tooth infection.

His pupils look pretty dilated, not sure if the cloudiness is at the corneal level, can't tell from the picture, George has cataracts and when his pupils are dilated his eyes appear cloudy because of the cataract. The dilated pupils may be a sign of pain amongst other things, certainly herpes (and other eye infections)can be painful.
