Hi, everyone,

So I recently sought the advice of a feline nutritionist for Dusty, who has suspected IBD, CKD and a history of (possibly stress-induced) mildly elevated blood sugar. I just received the recipe today, and I'm so frustrated and disappointed. The ME profile is as follows:

Protein 34.9%
fat 43.3%
carbohydrates 21.8%

Not only is it too high in carbs, I suspect it may not meet his protein needs. It says the recipe has 82g protein/Mcal. I'm not quite sure how to interpret this, but the nutritionist cited the National Resource Council's protein requirements for a cat Dusty's weight as 15.4g. According to Tanya's CKD website, their figures are too low.

I was so excited to start providing Dusty with ideal food to keep him healthy and feeling his best, and now I'm just so upset.

Can anyone recommend a feline nutritionist?

Thank you so much for listening to me vent,
Elena & Dusty

Seems like they focused only on CKD and left everything else out.

I would contact Dr. Lisa, http://www.catinfo.org/ she made a recipe for my 3 cats ( combined they have a long list of issues diabetes, CKD, PKD, PLD, HCM, HAL basically the whole alfabet ) and I can literally say she saved them and have kept them alive and ok, it may seem a bit pricey but seriously is worth every penny

Thank you to you both! Dr. Pierson's website says she not currently doing consultations, but I emailed her anyway in the hope that maybe she has plans to restart in the near future or could provide a recommendation.
