i'm having a major rash that is just getting worse around my neck and cheeks - it's itchy and red, almost like poison oak. it seems to get way worse after punkin rubs his head on me or licks me, and i'm wondering - has anyone had this experience? it started about the time he got diagnosed. he's not grooming nearly as much and his hair is greasy. could the change in his body fluid chemistry do something like that?

he's an indoor cat, so isn't bringing in anything on his hair.

If he's not grooming as much, you might be having a reaction to the excess dander coming off of him.

Is bathing him out of the question? FYI, I never bathe my cats by standing them in water, usually just standing on a towel on the sink and rubbing them down with a very wet wash cloth and baby shampoo...if the water's really warm, and they're cold-natured...man, they love it.
