Hello everyone,

I spent a lot of qualty time here in 2009/10 with my diabetic kitty Basil. He went into remission and stayed there the rest of his life. Now, his sister Rosie seems to be diabetic.

I say "seems" since we are awaiting the results of a fructosamine test before declaring her diabetic.

Rosie is 19 and NOT the cooperative kitty Basil was. She also has mild kidney disease.

I think I will probably be back in the Lantus forum shortly. Is 19 and a half too old to hope for remission?

Unlike Basil, who was eating dry food at diagnosis, we dont have the magic switch to wet to jumpstart us. But I can eliminate all the "in gravy" varieties of Fancy Feast. Sigh.

Sorry. I moved this to Introductions but can't see how to delete this one.

Welcome back, Lydia, although I'm sorry you need to be here again! You probably won't see me often because I use Vetsulin (I know, *sigh*, lol) but I hope you have good luck getting Rosie regulated and...maybe...into remission! :):):)
