Hope somebody can advise .... 448 PMPS; 211 + 2 hrs. 40; 112 4 hrs. 30; 52 +6. Do I give him high carb food, lo carb, nothing? This is his lowest ever. Figures it's the middle of the night!!!! I'm so nervous!

Hold on. Let me look at his ss. Remember, if you are using Lantus, the +6 is about the peak of the cycle, so he may start up again anytime.

When was the last time he ate? I would give him a nice tablespoon of low carb and test again in 30 minutes. I will be here watching for your next number.

Like I said, the Lantus should be having it's nadir soon, and he should be starting to rise soon.

Yes - those are numbers tonight. He nibbled a little bit after the 112 at 1:50 this morning - almost 2 hrs ago. I will see if he'll eat some more lo carb fancy feast, will test again in 30 mins. and if low then give him gravy from high carb. Correct?

Ok. He just ate a little bit. Wasn't able to measure out a tablespoon but he was hungry! I will set my alarm for 30 minutes and test again. Thx so much for being here for us!!!

I can't help with advice since I'm pretty new, but I am awake with my lowest numbers ever too waiting in the middle of the night, and figured I'd say hi and I hope your numbers go up soon:)

Ok - 911 is off and Elian and I are here waiting! I will try not to fall asleep but my alarm is set just in case. I never miss it!

I mainly said to stay awake, because I don't know you and don't know that you never miss your alarm, but your cat is dropping pretty fast, and I didn't want to risk you not waking up for the next test.

If Elian was surfing (staying relatively the same numbers) it would be a different story. Sorry, to make you stay up.

I'm up! Of course I'm too worried to sleep. I wasn't feel well today and was afraid I'd doze but of course I can't with him like this. Of course he's dozing right here next to me - as usual, unaware if how crazed i am. So glad I was up testing during the night to catch it - he's been so high I assumed he'd stay that way. No assuming with this stuff. :(

Yeah, they love to snooze, and then look at us funny, like why aren't you sleeping too?, while we are trying to stay awake to test a low cycle through the night.

All four of my boys are here with me now - the best support I can ask for next to this board!!! I am going to test E again in one hour unless I read differently. Thx again!!!

Okay, the 71 is from the food, and hopefully because he's also on the way up. I would test again in 30 minutes, but I'll wait for your 1 hour test. Then it's just about time for my cat's AMPS.

I'm in New Jersey, and we only got like 3 or maybe 4 inches of snow. What a disappointment. I shoot at 6:00/6:00.

R is Regular insulin, and is a very potent and short acting insulin (that can be very dangerous without knowing what you're doing). Not to be used without guidance from someone who knows how to use it.

He's up to 77. Feeling a little bit relieved. Thank you again for your help. I thought maybe you were in another country where it's a reasonable hour!!! Go get some sleep! And I'm glad you didn't get the brunt of the storm. I'm in south Florida with many friends all along the north east coast so been following the weather channel, online news and Facebook to see how everybody is doing! I will test Elian again in an hour or so. His amps isn't until 9:20 am. Thx for clarifying R for me. :)

Hopefully E will finally settle down one day soon. He's giving me extra gray hairs! And hopefully we can all get a few hours of sleep now.

Hi Susie! Good Morning ~O) Welcome. Your sugar boy sure is a cute and I love his nose stripe! So you've got 4 kitties and 7 dogs? I looked at Elian's profile and what a nice-looking crew! I'm in Ohio on EST time and I'm usually on the boards pc_work from 6:30 AM - Midnight. I scan the Lantus Land & Main Health Board often so I'll be here if you have a ? or just want support (though I don't give dosing advice, I will do my best to help you if you need it). I'm glad to see Elian's numbers come up. :RAHCAT I know FD can be trying at times, but you're doing an awesome job! You're in good hands here, Susie and I'm so glad you're doing a lot of testing. Gobbles' has kept me up late too. FD is a journey!

PS - Where are you in Ohio? I'm originally from Cleveland.
 
I'm near Youngstown; North Lima--small town on the border of Mahoning/Columbiana counties. My kids live in Kent (go to KSU). I used to live in Ashtabula County near Andover. Where in Cleveland? I have friends in Gates Mills.
 
Silver Meadows Apartments in Kent just came to mind - where my boyfriend lived while be both went to KSU waaaaay back in the dark ages - 1975! I'm from Beachwood - still have family and friends there. I knew a few people in Gates Mills - in fact, I kept my horse at a friend's home there in the 80's. But I've been in South Florida since 1986.

I'm not sure where Silver Meadows are, but my son lives near the ice rink, off campus, on Whitehall Blvd. and my daughter lives on campus in one of the dorms--she's an RA on a floor of freshmen!!! Do you miss the snow?
 
I just remember the apts were way out of town but everybody lived there! I lived in Terrace Hall and Prentice. Oh the memories! :) I do not miss the snow AT ALL! My mom is trying to talk me into moving back with my daughters (I got divorced 7 years ago) but I do not want to go back to snow. It was sunny and 80 today while the east coast was getting Nemo. I'm not stupid! :)
