Woh! I guess I'll have to watch this little sweetie carefully today. I switched her to Core Salmon, the only other wet food she eats for now and it must be really low in carbs! I haven't looked it up yet. She's been nice and low since starting it coming down from those terrible pinks. I imagine today we'll have some greens.

I also have some Primal raw quail defrosting for her. Has anyone tried that yet? I figured since she refuses to eat any texture but Wellness, maybe I can introduce the raw as treats or snacks instead of as meals and then once she's used to it, try serving it as a meal. She still refuses any food with chunks and any pate that isn't smooth like Wellness is. After our problem with her regular Wellness Salmon & Trout, I don't want to serve it for a few days and let her forget about the bad one first.

BTW, I found a great flush, cleanser when I went petfood shopping the other day and it's working great on Racci's anal glands. Thought I'd mention it in case anyone needs something like this. I think it should be in every first aid kit. Vetericyn, it's a flush that is a wound, infection treatment and cleanser. It has no abs or steroids in it but works fantastically. Racci's anal glands were starting to infect again and a few sprays with this and they're nice and clean looking again. It says use to treat or prevent viruses, spores, fungi, bacteria. Excellent product.

I felt like doing that, Celi. :lol: I was really surprised that she wasn't green yet. I guess she really filled up on Core this morning. She was 105 at +3 so either still going up or went up a lot and had a lot to drop. I just fed her again though so maybe +6 won't be lower either. Yesterday she stayed in low blues all day. She keeps me on my toes. :roll:

Definitely look for it if you have an ongoing problem to treat. It wasn't cheap but is probably cheaper online & Racci didn't mind the spray. It comes out nice and gently. I was amazed at the difference in just 2 treatments. They use these flushes on surgery sites so you know its gentle and good. The one I used to use in CA doesn't seem to be available right now. Everyone is out of it, but it was much cheaper. I don't remember if it worked this well though. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll buy it for you and send it.

she had a chin rash that mysteriously transferred to the Binkster, and they don't share a food dish ;-)

They've both cleared up now...but I'd like to find something to use in future if it ever recurs :roll:

I remember once when we were first starting to see greens on insulin- Binks got a 101 amps...
so I made him play for 5 minutes to see if we could get a green :lol: :lol:

Yay for Core Salmon! I'm glad you have something she'll eat. Very nice numbers today, too.

Thanks for looking up the Vetericyn, Randa. I'm sure I paid more at a little store than Amazon has it for. I'll check it out because I'm sure she'll need more soon since I'll have to use it everyday. I bought an 8oz bottle of flush. I'll have to see what else they have available. The store had a larger size but since I never tried that brand I got this size.

You're not kidding, yay for Core! :lol: I don't know what I would have done if there wasn't another choice she would eat around here. I made a bunch of phone calls and was able to find a date of 2/15 on the Core Salmon so asked for a case & sent DH. They only gave him 12. :roll: Guess I'll have to go get more in a few days. I want to get her some more of the other Wellness Salmon & Trout with a good date too before she forgets she likes it but have to give her a few days to forget the bad ones. Meanwhile I have 24 12oz cans here that I have to throw out! What a sickening waste. I wish I knew if any were good but can't take the chance of feeding her a bad one and can't donate something that's probably bad. I'm just lucky she didn't get sick.

I'll have to go visiting condos. I haven't had time to do that yet today. I saw the post about BigMac and just broke down. I was so hoping it wouldn't end this way. It was such a long shot but it seemed so hopeful all the same. Poor Carolyn. How devastating. Every time we lose a kitty, I think it could have been mine. :cry:
