One of my civvies has been really picky with canned food since we moved. He has chronic pancreatitis that's mostly controlled, but his appetite is easily affected if he doesn't have his favorite foods, so I tried to find him a raw food that would be similar to the brands he used to eat in Oregon (and that are not available on the East Coast). I bought a bag of this food, and he loved it.
Last night, Chewie was also being very picky about her usual canned food options, so I thought I would give her a few nuggets of the raw (maybe one or two tablespoons worth), and of course she loved it too. But later her numbers went back into the blues, when she had been green for the past 24h, and now I'm wondering if it's because of the raw food?
I trusted the bag's claim that the food contained only 0.6% carbs last night when I was ridiculously tired, but this morning I am more awake and seems like maybe ingredients like goat's milk and flaxseed bring it to a higher percentage than that? I emailed the brand's customer service to ask for the dry matter carb %, but curious to hear your thoughts!
