Hi all,

Wanted to start off by saying how grateful I am for this group and especially those directly advising me. I’ve felt so helpless with Raven /Mr RarRay so sick. It’s so valuable to have your guidance.

Raven’s numbers today have been in mid to low 400s after yesterday’s 0.25 dose increase after his drop by 90 points (nadir of 360).

Ketones before his shot this am were 0.8 on human meter.

He seemed to be feeling better this am. Purring a bit and more alert. I think the gabapentin might be helping with his pain. Or maybe he felt better because it looked like he might have been a bit blocked up/had some solid poop and diarrhea mix in box this morning.

He at about 1/4 of a can of wetfood (~40 cals) for breakfast and started out enthusiastically and then slowed down. So I gave him about 50 additional calories via syringe.

Now 3 hours later he’s mostly snoozing again. Very tired but seems ok.

Amazing how such a small change in insulin has such a big change on ketones. But we'll take it!
Truly is! I haven’t measured ketones as frequently today since I’m low on strips (expecting delivery by end of day), but planning for at least one more test this evening.

He’s also not peeing every 5 mins anymore and I have not noted any blood in urine today.

Raven slept pretty much all day (I think the gabapentin really knocked him out) but he was purring from time to time and he just seemed generally less miserable and slightly more bright eyed when his eyes were open (which makes me so happy). It’s tough to know how much he is improving without the daily blood work update I had gotten used to from the ER, but I do hope his blood values are improving or at least not deteriorating (especially regarding the kidneys).

I think today was a step in the right direction.
