Random question about sugar level

This thought just came to mind...What if you test your cat around 7+ or 8+ hours from the last insulin dose and the sugar is really high, say 400s for example? What do you do to bring it down before the next dose, if you do anything at all? This hasn't happened to me and I hope it never does, but just in case, I was wondering what I would do.

Would feeding some canned food bring it down enough?

This shouldn't happen as a general rule. It may mean you had a fur shot for the previous injection - no insulin got into the cat. With PZI, you have some options - shooting a token dose or shooting your regular dose early, if it won't completely throw you off your schedule. But it is tricky and I would always ask for advice first. High numbers look scary, but we have a saying here - "Better high for a day than low for a minute" Getting low numbers can be deadly. A random high number is not.

Please check my post to you in PZI. I hope you can get some tests in today.
