Hello everyone. thank you for creating this amazing group. It has helped so much. But now I need some advice. My Rafiki is 11 a Ragamuffin mix who weighs about 11 lbs and we need your help.
he has been on his canned dm diet, he gets 2 units of Lantus 2x a day and his numbers have been in the high 400s but for a week now Rafiki is walking funny. He seems like he’s stepping on his ankles, and it takes a while to get into the litter box.
i started adding vitamin b12 to his food and also give him liquid gold but see no positive results. Any tips?

My cat started walking low to the ground like a little bear about April. I thought she injured herself by jumping off the bed onto a hard floor. But when one leg began to splay out from under her, I took her to the vet. Hers is neuropathy and she is now getting Zobaline tablets in addition to insulin to treat the diabetes. Methyl B12 is different than the supplement you mention.

Some us Zobaline , but it's expensive

The only difference is the Zobaline has 200 mcgs of folic acid
So I buy the folic acid at the supermarket and crush it up and add it to the B-12
If you can't find the 200 mcg get the 400 mcg and cut it in half
The Vitacost brand is a capsule so just open it and pour the powder on the wet food
Has no taste, no need to crush it up
The Zobaline is 33.99 for 60 pills, too expensive
I saw a big improvement I'd say 3 months, could be sooner. One capsule a day.
Once you get your kitty better regulated the B-12 methyl will help

If his BG is still that high I would suggest setting up a spreadsheet, we use this to track our cats BG. If you need any advice on dosing we need to see this.

It is a good idea to set up your signature, it's at the end of everyone's post in gray

Click on your name upper right hand corner , a drop down will appear , tap in signature , fill out info

While on this topic, is there any reason to add in the folic acid? I bought the Zobaline off Amazon because I wanted it quickly, and it's expensive. But wish to buy more wisely on the next bottle. Thx.
