Questions re dosing with infection and antibiotics

Hi

Sooty has a UTI and is currently on antibiotics (Clavaseptin) 2 x daily and Metacam (once a day)

I’ve been testing Bg regularly and we have returned to a pre-vacation dose of 2.5u based on Pre-shot results.
Can I expect his BG to be high and not come down as much whist the infection is there ?
Will the bg readings be false as he fights off the infection ?
The numbers I’m getting are still quite high after the insulin has been given and previously they were coming down to single figures at about +6
I know my spreadsheet isn’t as populated as it should be and I’ll try my best to test as often as I can (and especially pre-shot tests)

I'm not familiar with Caninsulin so I hope someone else can give you an opinion about the dosing,

Regarding your other questions, yes usually an infection affects their BG numbers and they usually stay a bit high until the infection goes away, but the readings are real his blood glucose is high, so you could adjust his dose until he's out of the infection which can be tricky and will need a lot of monitoring since you are not going to know exactly when that happens
