Questions about Sya's great adventures

Hi,
After months of patiently waiting out the boneless kitty routine and many chicken treats, Sya is finally comfortable to wander about outside in the yard on her leash with me. She seems particularly intrigued by the smells on the bushes and the feel of the mulch bed. Am wondering two things....While I know I have to keep an eye on her grass consumption (prior experience of her bad tummy from that the last time...3AM in the bed...eeeew.), what about the onion grass that is mixed in out there? She doesn't seem to like the taste of it much, but does nibble on occasion. I know that family of plants is bad for cats...but is a little nibble of the tops on occasion dangerous? Also I am guessing that if we keep up with our walks fleas might be an inevitable result  Should I be treating preventitively? I hate to expose her to flea meds if I don't absolutely have to, but still....Any thoughts?

Although I'm not much into chemicals, I draw the line on fleas.

I treat my 2 dogs and my cats - indoor and indoor/outdoor w/ flea treatment. For me, it's insurance - it's much too stressful to have to deal w/ fleas in the house, in the bed, biting your ankles, etc. My dogs get either Frontline (vial) or Comfortis (tablet). My cats get Revolution, which does fleas, ticks and ear mites. The indoor/outdoor cats get a whole vial each per month; while the indoor only cats get either 1/2 or 1/3 vial about every 2-3 months, depending on their interaction with the IN/OUT cats and the dogs. This has seemed to work well for me for the past 5 or 6 years.

Good luck!
