For the first time I will not be home Thursday night to give Elian his shot (we shoot 9:30 am/pm.) I haven't shown my daughters how to test or shoot and really don't want them doing it. So..... do I skip one shot? Do I do it very late when I get home several hours past shoot time? I know he needs to come first but I have not gone anywhere or done anything in forever and was just told I'm being taken to game five of the Mismi Heat playoffs by an old friend I haven't seen in years. Please don't think I'm terrible for doing this. All I do is work, work and work.

I dont think you are terrible for doing this. Sometimes we all need a break and deserve to be able to go out every once in a while... I cannot give you advice - but wanted to let you know that I think its good you are getting out since you have not gone anywhere or done anything in a while. I hope you have a good time thursday night - you deserve it!

Thanks so much! I've been told that he needs to come first and my (nonexistent) social life second. Well actually fourth - after my daughters!!!!

Skipping isn't much different than a fur shot ... and sometimes those just happen. (corrected the is to isn't)

You could delay the shot that night if your schedule will accommodate it. You can work back to your desired shot time by moving the time up either 15 minutes each cycle or
30 minutes once a day.

How old is your daughter?
You might want to ease her into learning to test just to give you piece of mind .... you might need it some day in the future. ( not this week)
My daughter was testing for me at 16. I don't think mine would cooperate for getting a shot from her so we never tried that.

Thanks - I'm thinking a late shot, if I'm home at a reasonable hour (within 3 hours or so) otherwise I will pretend it was a fur shot. Both of my daughters are definitely old enough - 1 is 23 and the other is turning 21 next week. But..... they both have mild disabilities/developmental delays and while they're very helpful with my pet sitting business poking Elian's ear and giving him a shot just isn't something I'm comfortable with them doing although they probably are very capable. I'll consider teaching them in the near future..... but not in the next two days! For Elian's sake. :-)

I would not feel guilty in the least about skipping. He will get back on track. You've been at it pretty hard and dedicated. We skipped to go to a pro golf tournament; Amy has skipped to go seen Bruce Springsteen. You have to live.

If you get home and you want to shoot late, you can. I'm sure the opportunity will present itself to shoot an hour or so early at some point to catch up sooner.

Have a great time! Elian will be fine.
