What diabetic-friendly treats do you use/recommend?

I've used Beefeater's freeze dried salmon and cod found in the treat section at Petsmart. I also buy chicken gizzards/hearts and use those as treats. The treats I'm using now are freeze dried turkey hearts I buy at the vet's. I can't remember the name though as they are at home and I am at work. Basically I found that most any meat that is freeze dried, works and is diabetic friendly.
the tuna flakes that alot of people use didn't work too well in my house because for some reason the cats manage to blow them away when they're sniffing them. :lol:
I've also picked up one or two freeze dried things in the dog section at petsmart but found that they didn't really work too well as they were too hard for the cats to eat.

My diabetic foster, Moe is a food/treat FIEND! Everytime he hears the treat can shake, he's the first there with his big, brown eyes pleading.... He is a food lover. My son, Wisely, will NOT permit him even one treat... While he stands there and watches the Civvies get some.
I want to get some diabetic friendly treats in FAST so that when my son gives everyone ELSE their treats, Moe has his also.

I've always used Real Food Toppers (web site is now http://www.completenaturalnutrition.com/). Big chunks of meat or fish that are easily broken up if needed and a good amount of powder at the bottom of the bag of sprinkling on top of food. The chunks can be softened in water and the water turns into a sort of sauce/gravy. Kind of pricey, though, at about $15 for a 4 ounce bag.
The Halo Liv-A-Littles look rock hard and too dried out (at least the ones I've seen at the pet store) so I've never fed that brand. I think I tried Whole Life once but my diabetic didn't like them.
My diabetic crinkled up his nose and made a face at the smell of tuna flakes and would not go anywhere near them :lol: it's a very strong fishy smell.
I've also used Stella and Chewy's freeze dried RAW patties for dogs (there was no patties for cats a few years ago).
And sometimes I just boiled up chicken and fed that as treats, freezing leftovers and the cooking liquid, for later use. The chicken had to be cooked just right (not even a teeny bit overcooked or not undercooked) otherwise my diabetic would not eat it :roll:

I am using the petco brand of tuna flakes, is a bit of a pain as there is alot of powder to it, so i use the powder on my little heart patient as a topper... boiled chicken has worked just tonite for all 3 of them.... as Slappy (civvie) will not eat anything new... I boiled 3 thighs, cooled and shredded and froze... the broth, i put in ice trays, dumped in a bag for liquid on the wet (have not tried it yet tho)... trying to find something that is not fish cuz Sugar Bean will consume as many flakes as you will let her... I did buy some other stuff, dried shrimp (did not like), salmon (did not like) real mouse pucks (have not tried)... hope this helps some
