Question about The Alphatrak 2 Glucometer...

Hi all! Just want to start by saying although this is my first post, I've gained a wealth of information from this board over the last year since my little guy Max got diagnosed and I wanted to just thank the members of the board in general.

My specific question regarding the Alphatrak 2 is this:

Today after taking Max's second reading of the day I was scrolling through the glucometer's memory when I noticed something I hadn't before. When I got to the end of the memory I was presented with three screens that had "davg" at the bottom with a number under it (7,14,and 30 respectively). What does this mean? It got me thinking that my glucometer hasn't been set correctly this whole time, which would explain why Max has been so difficult to regulate. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I believe that is the average "avg"......i'll go look at mine....

Yeah thats the (daily) average of the readings from the last 7, 14, and 30 days

I never pay attention to that. I wouldnt have made decisions based on that. Maybe some people do?

As long as you keep a record of your readings, watching for curves and such, i'm not sure how the davg would be better than that.

When you turn it on and get that ""davg" screen, just keep pressing the M or C button (depedning on which way you want to scroll) to get to the actual readings taken, which will also show the time and date at the bottom

Editing your Signature

In the upper right corner of the screen, within the dark blue bar, you will see ID, Inbox, and Alerts

Click on your ID.

On the left, under Settings, Click on Signature.

This is where you paste the link for your spreadsheet, once it is set up.
Add any other text, such as your name | cat's name | date of Dx (diagnosis) | insulin | meter general location (city and state/province) any other pertinent issues like if there are any food issues, history of DKA, hepatic lipidosis, pancreatitis, allergies, IBD, etc.

Click the Save Changes button at the bottom.
