We are using the Relion 1/2 ml 31 gauge syringes. These dont have half marks, only 1 full unit marks (5 unit increments in bold with 1 unit lines in between). Which should I get for the .25 marks and do I need to ask the vet for a new prescription?

Most locations do not require a script for syringes but some do. Thus you may have to get a new script for them.
You need syringes that have 3/10 CC (30 unit or less) syringes since only some of those have 1/2 unit markings. Relion does may syringes with 1/2 units markings. You may have to ask the pharmacy to order them.

Get the Relion 3/10 cc insulin syringes instead. They do have half unit markings. You may need a new prescription from the vet.

You can also buy insulin syringes online with no prescription. I don't think you can buy Relion syringes online but there are many other brands that you can use: BD, GNP, Monoject, Ulticare, etc.

1/2 ml (aka 1/2 cc aka 50 unit) syringes are not ideal to use for most diabetic cats because it is hard to measure small doses of insulin.

The Relion syringes are fine to use, but like everyone said, you want the 3/10cc. They're the ones in the white and purple box :)
