I have u-100 insullin. They gave me 30unit syringes.
No way i can use those is there??
This is for Smokie 17yrs old with cri, out of remission.
thank you

those should be right. what have you been using before this?

30 units means 3/10cc syringes sooooooooo they should be ok. wait for at least one more person to confirm though k

do they have half unit markings?

i gotta catch up but if not, you can eyeball roughly half way between the first line (flush at the bottom of the syringe) and the next one? let me see if i can find the pics of syringes i've seen around here before

u100 just means the concentration of the insulin and the 30 units for the syringes just means that's how many the syringe holds. have you not been using syringes that hold 30 units before?

ok, did some quick scanning. so smokie has been diet controlled? and bg's are high enough to need insulin again? did you use lantus before or another insulin?

if you look towards the bottom of this post, squeem3 has a good depiction of what the markings on 30 unit, aka: 3/10cc, syringes look like. ones with half unit markings are on the left, without half unit markings are on the right. which ones do you have?

Smoke has been very ill with diarrhea and vet gave her Depo-mderol 10mg July 4th.
Her urine glucose has been 500 all day and yesterday. unable to get insulin until awhile ago.
She is not eating since this noon but a tiny bit.
