One of my cats is peeing in inappropriate places and I noticed today that the urine smells sweet. Of course, the first thing I thought of was one is now diabetic. However, I tested all of them and all except one was in the 50's or lower. The highest reading I received was 80.

I know which cat I suspect may be the one who is not using the litterbox and planning to take her back to the vet this week. She had a UTI a few weeks ago. Since I know it is not FD, what other health conditions besides the UTI should I ask the vet about that would cause this smell?

Re: Question about sweet smelling cat urine

She has not lost any weight or have excessive hunger or thirst. I will ask them to check her kidneys. Since she tested at 50 yesterday, I know it is not FD.

I took Duquessa to the vet today. She does have a slight UTI and also her PH is a little high. They wanted to give Convenia but instead I made them give me another antibiotic - so she is on Clavamox. They also prescribed Methigel for the PH.

With 7 cats, I was hoping that I had taken the right cat to the vet. I wish they had a better way of telling us they do not feel good.
