I can not access a laptop every day and i cant update the spreadsheet on my tablet i dont know why but it wont let me. He starts on his first wet food tonight Friskies classic pate…. I am so confused.. I think for me it would be easier for me to tracknit myself..

Hi Dawn! Having a spreadsheet really is a good idea, it's especially helpful to have one that advice-givers can view to assist you.

I tried to access your spreadsheet and got an error message, so apparently it isn't set up properly. I found it tricky to set up so someone from here helped me with mine. There are folks here who will set it up for you, just start a thread asking for help with it. Once you have it set up it's just data entry, you just need to enter dates and BG numbers. It's honestly not as intimidating as it seems! Sorry I can't help you further, but go ahead and post for help, there are lots of people here who can! :):):)

Hi Dawn, Here is how it was explained to me and hope this helps you understand it. Also I too tried to click on you SS and got an error message. Did you click on the share button? It is the upper right hand corner of the Spread Sheet page.

Understanding the Spread Sheet

The colored headings at the top are the ranges of glucose values. They are color-coded to clue you in as to meaning.

Each day is 1 row. Each column stores different data for the day.

From left to right, you enter
the Date in the first column
the AMPS (morning, pre-shot, test) in the 2nd column
the Units given (turquoise column)

Then, there are 11 columns labeled +1 through +11
If you test at +5 (5 hours after the shot), you enter the test number in the +5 column
If you test at +7 (7 hours after the shot), you enter the test number in the +7 column
and so on.

Halfway across the page is the column for PMPS (evening, pre-shot, test)
To the right is another turquoise column for Units given at the evening shot.

There is second set of columns labeled +1 through +11
If you snag a before bed test at +3, you enter the test number in the +3 column.

We separate day and night numbers like that because many cats go lower at night.

The nadir is the lowest glucose between shots. There is a general period when it will happen which is specific to the insulin being used and testing then helps make sure your cat doesn't go too low.

It is merely a grid for storing the info; no math required.

I have a tablet also and there was an issue at first with mine but Ii received help and could get it up and going. If you need help, just ask and someone ( not me as I am a computer ignat) and someone can assist you. It is a very valuable tool for you and everyone here to see what is going on when you need dosing advice and for you to see patterns.

Welcome to the board Dawn. I am not an expert with the spreadsheets by any means but it looks to me like the problem might be with the link.

Here's what I think might help.

  1. Go into your signature and highlight "Maxwell's Spreadsheet" only.
  2. Copy this text: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bgKq1JC1GyGhfpl60dTtQkUD73qVtWECX2dPwvil6Cg/pubhtml
  3. Click on the link icon in the menu at the top of the message area and paste the text you just copied into the box that appears for the URL.
As for using this on your tablet, can you open the document but not update it or can you not open it at all?

Hopefully that helps.
