Ok guys, we have to go out of town for the day on Saturday and there is no one that can come check Doogle while we are gone. So what should we do? I have several options that could work:

1 Change shot time to an earlier shot (like back it up every 30 mins till i go back about an hour and half. That way nadir would be before we leave)
2 Skip the morning shot
3. Do a less amount

We arent leaving till about 3pm in the afternoon and if I back up his shot to an earlier time, his nadir would be before we leave. I just dont want to run the risk of him doing a green day and I cant be here to watch him. What should I do???

It's my understanding the shots for days before will still be effecting our kitties on a particular day so shooting less on one day won't be effective for that day. In other words, the amount you shoot Thursday and Friday will still be in play come Saturday, regardless of what you shoot Saturday. Make sense?

If it were me, I'd be tempted to move the shot, and therefore the nadir, time.

Teresa is correct, reducing the shot may not have any effect until you are already back. On the rare occasion I couldn't be home to monitor Vyktor after a shot I skipped. As long as it's not a frequent occurence it won't interfere with Doogle's progress.

I have a couple of thoughts...

You could shoot your normal amount at your usual time and monitor that morning. If numbers look like they're dropping, you can always leave food out. It doesn't look like Doogle dives all that low but I can understand your concern.

Skipping is always a possibility. Think of it as a fur shot.

I tend to agree that a reduced dose is more likely to have an effect on your PM cycle than the cycle where you're reducing the dose.

I had a day recently where we had to leave super early in the morning and I was going to be gone all day. No monitoring at all.
So I asked Marje and/or Sienne about reducing my dose
the night before and then again on the absentee day.

Just a small reduction so not to lose ground but to back off just enough not to push.
I always think of what I shoot now as being what I'll see the very next cycle.

Well I think we are going to just wait and see. Cant put food out because the others will eat it before he would (I have a couple of greedy kitties). The DH is nervous about backing up time because he wont get his shot for at least 4 hours after he should that night since we will be driving back from another state (its a two hour drive). So I will let yall know what I do before we take out.
