Question about Petsafe 5

Looking at auto feeders. I've read a lot of the posts, and the Petsafe sounds like it's probably the best option (other than the refrigerated one that's like $400-$500). Just want to double check...

When I check it out on line, it doesn't say you can put ice packs in it. Am I looking at the wrong one, or is it just that the dish is raised enough to be able to put an ice pack under it?

Also, just want to be sure...can it be set for 3 hour intervals?...all the other ones I've looked at say they can only be set to a minimum of 4 or some only 6 hour intervals. This one doesn't actually say.

Anyone know the cheapest place to buy it in Canada?

I have a Petsafe 5. You can put ice packs in it - I made a post about it on another thread (with pictures). Here's the post. I found some relatively flat ice packs at Giant Tiger recently that fit underneath the entire unit. I found some that fit the area under the tray at the Dollarama.

I don't see why you couldn't program it at three hour intervals - it allows you to pre-program up to nine different times into the memory, which works out to less than 3 hours between feedings in a 24 hour period. I'll double check for you in a minute though.

At regular price, the cheapest place I found when I looked was Amazon. However, if you have a Petsmart nearby and get their emails, you might get a good coupon on a weekend. I'd procrastinated on buying the feeder and ended up with a $25 off $75 coupon, so it might be worth waiting to see if anything like that comes up (if you can).

Edited to add:

I just programmed mine to rotate at 1-minute intervals and it did so with no issue. :)

Thank you, that really helps! Didn't find that post when I searched.

Can't find it on the petsmart.ca site. Did find it on the petvalu site.

I can't find it on the Petsmart site either - I know it had been there before and the link still shows up in Google search (though it just goes to the automatic feeder section now). Hopefully it'll show up again and, if not, maybe they'll still have stock in store.

Hubby said he'd go check petsmart tomorrow for me. Thanks for the picks...helps me show him what I'm looking for.
