? Question about hypo range

I can't remember where on here I read it, but made a note that hypo is under 65mgl and under 40 is life threatening. My vet said under 80 is hypo. Is the discrepancy because the ranges on ss are based on a human monitor and the typical ideal 80-120 mgl range (which I'm sure is what my vet referred to) is based on animal monitors like alphatrak so it's a matter of the conversion?

On a human meter, 50 is your “take action” number meaning it's time to intervene with food to bring the BG up whether you need to feed low carb, med carb or high carb food
If there is a big drop on BG numbers you would need to feed and keep testing
Oh ok that makes sense, prevent it from hitting that super dangerous sub 40 range like a buffer zone.
