Question about first curve/dosing?

Hi!

Nacho has been on insulin for about 5 days now.

What are the steps that I take leading into the weekend?

I should be doing his first curve this Friday or Saturday where I test every 2 hours correct? (I work full time so I want to make sure I am prepared this weekend to do that one of the days).

Then after that I determine with your help if dosing needs to be increased?

Also - one of the days I don't think I got his full dose because I hit the plunger by accident - is it best practice to not re-dose in case he did get a partial dose?

Yes that's right, you wouldn't reshoot, because you can't be sure what he got in the first place.

On curve day, feed as normal and gather the data, if you post with the results you can discuss any concerns.

Make sure you have plenty of strips.

That is what we call a 'fur shot' and since there is no way to know how much insulin did or did not get into kitty it would not be safe to re-shoot.

I have them there - just hidden because it is easier for me to see the chart on my phone that way I will open back up if I end up having to test in the middle of the night

I recommend you open it up as you will need to collect data for those hours.
The 8 hours between PM+4 and AMPS are 1/3 of the whole picture.

Also a fur shot starts the count over again. Since you are doing SLGS I still would do a curve this weekend.
