Hey everyone, I hope I can explain myself
I do feed Tyler during each cycle FF Pate, don't have set feeding times during the cycles
Today 4-19-20 he didn't want a snack until @+7.5, he was sleeping and didn't bother me to eat, then checked him @+9.25 and his BG was 88
I shoot àt 8:30
As you all know he's been having lots of amps blues lately, was always green
My question is do you think that him not having a snack until @7.5 gave me. a BG of 117 @+6.25 then I checked his BG @+9.25 and it came down to 88
I know that we should feed snacks about 2 or 3 times during a cycle because it helps heal the pancreas, something like that. Thank you
His PMPS tonight was 96
Any thoughts @Deb & Wink

@Marje and Gracie
@Chris & China (GA)
@Wendy&Neko

I remember reading somewhere, not sure if it was in this forum. But not to feed 2hrs prior to Pre-shot test. My Tiger gets about a little over 2 cans of friskies a day. 1 breakfast and dinner and roughly a 1/8th to 1/4 for lunch. He's a big boy though, weighs close to 20lbs. And nibbles on Blue Wilderness Kitten other times(approx. 2 cups a day). Now he's being Mr. Finicky. Is refusing Friskies wants FF instead. Twerp.

When a cats pancreas is healing and has some working beta cells, you often see the BG go down after food, because the body is able to secrete some insulin (because the beta cells are working) in response to the intake of food.
The 117 at+6.5 could be because he didn’t eat and the drop to 88@+9.25 was probably because the beta cells were stimulated to secrete some insulin in the response to the food eaten.

If you try a snack at +9 at night you might get a green AMPS.

No suggestions or ideas from me, on when to feed Tyler. So try Bron's idea.

Tyler looks almost as tightly controlled as Chris's cat China was.

Spring fever? My cat gets goopy eyes from the pollen in the spring. Suppose that could raise the BG level's up a tiny bit. Tyler has been trending a bit higher, into the blue's at AMPS for about 3 weeks now. That is about when the pollen started to get bad here, with the early spring.

Thanks so much Bron, going to give him a snack @+9 ( night cycle) and see what happens
I just looked back at 4-19-20 night cycle @+9.5 (5:45 am) and fed a snack and then on 4-20-20 his AMPS was green 87,
Going to set an alarm and give it a try. Thank you very much Bron
And thank you Tyler for waking me up at 5:45 am @Bron and Sheba (GA) :bighug::cat:
