I know this isn't related to diabetes but I have a question regarding one of my cats. He is a neutered male cat and about 5 weeks or so ago he was hit on the road but through the good grace of God my dad seen him on the road and so I went out quickly as I could and brought him up to the house all covered in blood. I thankfully got him into a Vet. To make a long story short, he had to have surgery on his lower jaw because it was fractured in the middle but not a lot. He front and back left legs had nerve damage but he is walking fine on his front leg now but his back leg he wobbles on it as it bows out a bit. He has been on steroid pills for the inflammation and nerve damage of his legs and was also on an antibiotic. First was just amoxi tabs for the mouth but then he was making noises whenever he would try to pee so I took him in and they treated him for UTI with Clavamox. However all this time he still doesn't seem crazed about eating much dry and def wet food. He doesn't even seem to want to drink much water either but otherwise you look at him and he seems fine. The problem is each time I check the litter box out his pee clumps are not that big. They are about the size of walnuts. This was the same case before I got his medication for treatment of UTI. They did X-rays on him when he was being treated for being hit and the Vet never mentioned anything about crystals or anything like that in the X-rays. So with that said, Prednisone is supposed to cause increased thirst and appetite but for him it seems to work the exact opposite. I'm sure its not normal to not have big pee clumps either but he doesn't seem to whine like he used to either.
