My cat copper just had that recent hypo incident and we had to reduce his insulin for a day. He is vomiting this morning and really not interested in eating. Can't get ketone check yet. QUestion is: If you cut the dose of a cat by 1/2 is there a greater risk of him going into dka? Maybe i should go up on dose?

Thanks Lori

Hi Lori,

Ketones come from not getting enough insulin and usually there is something else going on to compound the situation like an infection, UTI or not eating.

Judging by today Copper is having a great day so far. A very nice blue surf, with about a 50% drop. Depending on what his PMPS is this dose looks really good on his AMPS. They can be more sensitive to the insulin after a hypo so post you PMPS and lets see where he is then.
