Hello!

I know there's a 15 min. cushion for AM/PM dose times (this has come in handy when I know I have to plan for a dose time-change in advance), and my job/schedule allows for keeping it consistent, but here's my question:

Every now and then, rarely, actually, I have a last-minute meeting I have to attend either before or after my normal work hours; so do I shoot early, late, or skip? The time frame can by anywhere from 1 to 2 hrs before/after Ripley's usual dose time.

Luckily, since diagnosis I have not had to deal with this; but it will likely happen so I want to be prepared.

Thank you so much! The information I find here in Lantus Land is sooooo helpful!

Actually, you have a window of 30 min.

What you need to keep in mind is that an early shot acts like a dose increase and a late shot acts like a dose reduction. So, if you shoot early, unless the numbers are really high, it's best that you're there to monitor.

The other consideration is that if you are shooting 2 hours late, can you afford to be that far off schedule for your AM shot? The best you could do would be to shoot 30 min. early -- at your +11.5 since your AM shot would need to be 12 hours (or 11.5 hours) after your PM shot.
