QUESTION ABOUT CHF IN CATS

Hey! We had to rush Max (16) to the vet yesterday and they think he may have congestive heart failure. We will know more tomorrow when they do the ultra sound to find out what stage it is. Is there a cat website similar to this one for cat's with congestive heart failure.

They changed this website. I had been a member and when I tried to long on before I could not get on it.

Ask for a ProBNP bloodtest. It tests for an enzyme indicating heart disease. Squeaker experienced CHF nearly 2 years ago after being diagnosed with diabetes due to steroids. It also damaged his heart which then lead to kidney damage. It is also helpful to keep an eye on the kidney values, BUN and Creatinine. Heart disease is what causes CHF and heart disease typically leads to renal failure.
