Started 15 minutes earlier since missed morning shot by 45 minutes.
4 units lantus insulin.


Was a pretty rough night!
Hope having a better luck today.

Question:
I have been using Tubby's left ear this whole time and can tell he is getting very sensitive there, the poor thing and I feel very sorry for him.
I used lancet gauge 33 which he was fine with. I ran out a couple of days ago and when bought test strips last week I got a box of lancet gauge 28
as a bonus. I will get him back to gauge 33 today when I go to the pharmacy but I always had problems using the right ear 4 or 5 years ago when he was under the same treatment. This time I have not tried it yet but I'm sure will be the same. Are there any conventions about switching from one ear to another?

Sorry you were a little late with the shot. You can adjust that quickly. Tubby is probably bouncing for the lower numbers. Come on Tubby come back to blue and green PLEASE.

I have the same problem with DC's right ear. When I use the right ear, I heat up a baby sock with rice in it in the microwave and hold it under his ear for about 15 seconds.
I also use a larger lancet for that ear. It works pretty good now. Not nearly as good as the left one though, but it's way better.

Generally most cats have one ear easier to get blood from than the other. I rotate ears each time I do a pokey.

I use both ears easily.. Frip kind of chose the ear he wants me to use by turning his head on that side.
