PZI Smell

I've noticed that the PZI has a really distinct smell to it. Is there any way to mellow that out after I give Ruby her shot? I think its contributing to why Midgie, our other cat, is more skittish and standoffish around Ruby now.
I tried the tshirt thing last night and that might help a little but its just such a strong scent.

I doubt there is a way to change the odor of ProZinc. But this leads me to another question for you: how close do you have to get before you can smell it? Do you smell it in the air when you give your cat a shot? If so, I've read that can be a sign of a fur shot.
 
If I have the loaded syringe in my hand with the cap off, I can smell it. You have to get pretty close to her fur to smell it, and probably need to know that's what it is to know it. But if I can smell it, I can imagine its even stronger to the kitties.

I haven't tried Feliaway. I need to get some more white fish treats today so maybe I'll pick some up.
