PZI -- Maximum effect vs Duration of effect in cats

I'm just trying to get this out there. I have a vial of BCP bovine pzi plus 100 syringes unopen. Cat died. I kept cold pack etc. I will overnight this to who ever is in need. I hate to just toss it. my phone won't do email right now so please text 5092052936 thanks.

You know, I don't even know how to send a text to a phone number from this laptop. No cellphone, ever (too poor).

Regarding the duration of effect, the reason for my question is how best to calculate a QD dose versus a BID one. You might think that the BID dose should be half, but should it? If a dose of PZI or ProZinc only lasts 20 hours, seems like there's a 20/24 or 24/20 ratio in there when figuring BID doses.

Ken, I do not understand your question. Are you thinking you'd give insulin 4 times daily? I think in general a dose of PZI lasts between 10-12 hours. But looking at Tara's spreadsheet, she is doing very well on tiny doses. The basic idea when a cat looks like she is headed off insulin is to maintain her in safe numbers and below the renal threshold. Giving tiny drops at numbers in the 170-200 range can be beneficial as long as you can monitor.

What is your specific concern?

@Sue and Oliver (GA) , The reason I looked up the duration of effect was that it seems BID doses should be slightly larger or slightly smaller than half a QD dose, since a single dose lasts 'up to' 20 hours instead of 24 (a full day). This relates to accurate microdosing and my dosing spreadsheet.

And thank you for the BG range!

Edited to add, here's a more specific(!) case from reality. Last night Tara had a BG of 204 (I have no idea why it bounced, it had been 36 hours since her last shot), so should I give her a QD dose or a 'half' (maybe BID) dose? I'm going to be sleeping, so I can't check her BG numbers at night. It is safer to give her a 'half a dose' followed by another 'half a dose' 12 hours later when I can check her BG numbers? BUT, that is not really my question, it's more explanatory. The question is, what should any BID dose of ProZinc be when expressed relative to a precise QD dose?
