Well, this morning Puckett has a BG reading of 155. I gave him 1/2 unit of PZI rather than the 1 unit which is normal for him. His blood draw was at the 6 hr mark. I gave the tech all the info from the last couple of days. When she brought Puckett back out she said his BG when she tested him was 133 and they figured it would have been lower had I done it at home because he always major stresses when he is at the clinic. The tech said she checked with my vet and my vet wants him to only get 1/2 unit am/pm until we get the results of the fructosamine test back.

Good!

Maybe his pancreas will think about kicking in again.

I would love to see that happen but will accept having to give him insulin for however long. Although he's one of 8 of my kitties I've gotten even more attached to him since having to take care of his diabetes and his ear tumor.

155 isn't bad at all. I hope Puckett can get off the juice quickly. I'm glad he has a good bean to watch over him!

Keep your hopes up and keep us posted!! When my kitty went into remission it was over a period of a few days and his BG was down then up then down. I was a mix of hopefull/anxious/scared until we figured out what was going on for sure. Just make sure you keep an eye on him (which I'm SURE you are since he's your good buddy!) for hypoglycemia. I had to treat my boy for minor hypo (just gave him some extra wet food and kept an eye on him til his sugar came back up) when he went into remission. Sending you positive thoughts and wishes for full remission!! And if it doesn't happen, just think of it as a continuation of spending extra quality time with him. There's a silver lining to every cloud!
