Have old, unneeded maybe expired medicines cluttering up your medicine cabinet? Old pet medicines? Don't toss them into the trash! Medicines can leech out into the ground and harm wildlife and pollute ground water, not to mention people who dig around in trash to find discarded medicines they can overdose or whatever on.

Collect all your unneeded prescription medicines and bring them to a local site that is participating in Prescription Drug Take Back Day. There is a search in the link above that you can use to find a local site. Just walk into the site and drop your medicines off. No paper work or ID needed, no questions asked.

Some sites, such as police stations and pharmacies, will take back old prescription medicine all year long. Check with your local police station or pharmacy before you head over with old medicine. https://apps.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/pubdispsearch/spring/main?execution=e2s1

Sharps are not accepted. See https://safeneedledisposal.org/ for information on safe sharps disposal in your state. Your state or local health department will likely also have information, including free Sharps waste disposal days. Most vets don't accept used Sharps. If they do, they mostly likely will charge a fee since it costs them extra to dispose of client Sharps waste.
