ProZinc

Thats true, some Cotsco's do carry ProZinc in their pharmacy but not all of them.
The problem right now is there is a shortage of an ingredient used in the manufacture of ProZinc so you may not be able to get it unless they had some reserve in stock.
Supposedly, ProZinc will be available again in the fall? but many of us that will run out before then will have to try a different option, like compounded PZI form a compounding pharmacy until ProZinc is available again.

Hello,

Welcome! Here is a link to more information on ProZinc & a bit on compounding pharmacies (one that will use various chemical ingredients to make a drug you need that is no longer being made or not in a form you need: pill, liquid, powder, etc.). Possibly, your vet might know of one in your city or the Emergency Department or pharmacy department of your local hospital might know of one in your city.

Note on compounding factories, and this was in another thread a week or two back. Not all factories are created equal, and you need to use one that your vet or another vet he consults has had good results from. There is a compounded form of Prozinc available, but the article I referenced in that other thread (I'll look for a link to it) did not have much good to say about compounded Prozinc.

What Angela was talking about was compounded PZI bovine insulin, which is not the same thing as Prozinc. And the company she mentioned "BCP", is I think the largest producer of compouned bovine PZI, so it should be a reliable source for the insulin.
