Prozinc safe dosing: 3 units/2xs day?

I’m getting alarm because I’ve just started Chavvie on Prozac today, and The vet puts the correct dose as three units two times a day.

His BG This morning shortly after food was 21.8 on a pet metre; this morning after food was 21.8 on a pet metre

I am about to go to sleep and I gave him his second dose and one hour ago. I am thinking I will do an ear draw.

should I carb up the food to be safe?

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Your subject line says Prozinc but you say Prozac in the first line of your post.
I can’t comment on Prozac.
However if you mean Prozinc then the starting dose is 0.5 units if you are feeding a wet low carb diet OR 1 unit if you are feeding a dry food diet.
So I would definitely reduce the dose to 0.5 units or 1 unit at the next dose, depending on what you are feeding.
Are you hometesting the blood glucose before giving the dose of insulin to make sure if it is safe to give it?
And yes please give him some higher carb food before you go to bed and test his Blood glucose. I would also suggest getting up about 6 hours after you gave the fuse to check the blood glucose again.

You were on Senvelgo and now are starting ProZinc insulin instead? Is that correct? And you started with 3 units? Or did you work your way up to that from a lower dose? Can you get a spreadsheet started so we can see some test numbers?

Hi there if you started Prozinc can you add that to your signature and the date started, you can add that after you have Senvelgo.
Add the food you are feeding also
Tap in your name up top and tap in signature and add Prozinc and the date started
