Hi, all

My cat is just diagnosed with a sugar cat today and I came back to this site again.
My previous cat also was diabetes, and can not believe why the thing happen to my cat.
He is a big cat but I was control by wet food but my vet told me to change to dry because he had urinary Problems. After the a year later, his weigh were gained and started drinking a lot of water.

Well now I'm living in Japan and it is not easy to get the PZI.
Please let me know if you know where I can get ProZinc® in Japan. Or company they can ship it to Japan.
It is very important to control BC in early stage....... His BC is 500 and now he is in hospital.
My vet think that he may able to control by food not having insulin.....

I would not change the food to dry. This vet has lots of information on urinary problems and the advantages of wet food: www.catinfo.org

What insulins are available in Japan? Many cat owners now use two human insulins: Lantus and Levemir. They might be more available if your vet is willing to prescribe them. We have an insulin support group for each insulin if you want to read more info: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewforum.php?f=5 The two insulins we do not recommend are Vetsulin/Canninsulin and Humulin. Both are short acting and tend to hit too hard and fast. We like slower, longer lasting insulin like ProZinc, Lantus and Levemir.

Tell us more about why he is in the hospital. Did the vet mention DKA or Ketones?
