ProZinc Question

Good Evening!
Buttons and I have a question for you. We are new to this sugarcats world and Buttons has been so patient with my fumbling and furshots. I have been so very careful with remembering to get the ProZinc into the fridge as soon as I am finished . This morning (7 AM) I was rushed and did not put it away. When I arrived home (5 PM) I realized my huge mistake. Have I ruined the vial? My vet says no......all I read says yes. Poor Buttons....he deserves better than this!

Unless it was incredibly hot in your house today, it should be okay. If not, you will see a change in the numbers. I left mine out overnight and it was fine. No worries - everyone here has left out insulin and given a fur shot. It's part of the initiation.....

And you should probably take off the 911. It will freak people out - we usually save it for a kitty that is hypo or in dire medical straits.

I remember you from Health. How is it going? Have you managed the home testing yet?

Yup, Sue is right. You are probably OK, but if you start seeing wacky numbers from here on out, then you have your answer ;-)

R e: ProZinc Question

Thank you for the replies. I appreciate the support. I apologize for the 911, but I was truly concerned about doing greater harm by giving the shot than by not giving the shot. I am finding your board knows far more than some of the experts. I won't use 911 again in the future.
Buttons thanks you for calming his mom down. Enjoy this beautiful day!

Just so you know for the future, using that unrefrigeratored insulin would not be harmful, except in the sense that you would not be giving enough active insulin. You would know because thE BG numbers would rise and appear uncontrolled.

Glad you found us. You can remove the 911 by editing your post ( there is an "edt" button at the top of the post on the right side I believe. Click it an then unclick the circle for the 911.)
