about how much percentage of protein, carbs, phosphorus, and calories should a diabetic cat need? why I'm asking is because my vet said I need a full diabetic diet for my cat...and she gave me Hills Prescription w/d and from what I think it has a higher percentage wise than 10% or lower of carbs, on the bag itself it says crude protein minimum 34% , I don't know about the carbs or the phosphorus level, the calories it says 280 a cup, I have been looking for the phosphorus level and carbs, but I don't see anything about that, even on their own website...and from everything I'm reading it is saying a high protein, low carb, no grain diet for cat's w/ diabetes and even on the bag it has stuff like brewers rice, corn gluten meal, wheat gluten, whole grain corn, whole grain wheat, soybean oil, and stuff like that, which I'm not sure if that is good for a cat w/ diabetes...from what I read it all says no...so I would like to know if this is okay? or I should try something else? and if anybody has any suggestions on food if this isn't good for my cat.
