Just wanted to give a progress report on Lucky. She's been in remission since last Wednesday. I have been testing her sugar every other day. So far her numbers have been very good. Nothing over 96! I've been giving her 2 cans of FF a day. I add extra water to her food when I give it to her because she is a grazer and she never eats that whole can in one sitting. So she is getting extra water every day along with her food. So far so good! After next week I plan on going every two days testing. Eventually going down to once a week. She's still not happy with testing. There are days when I can get blood in one shot. But most days I have to try about 5 or 6 times because she moves. And lately she has started nipping me. Not hard. But enough for her to let me know she doesn't like what I'm doing. I think it's the fact that she just doesn't like anyone touching her ears. Even when I first got her I would touch her ears and she'd complain and swat. But I think that's because she was apart of a spay/neuter release program. So one of her ears is clipped at the top. I'm sure that wasn't a pleasant memory of having to go to the vet or how ever they do that sort of thing. I know they are sedated for it and all. But having to go to a vet is never a pleasant memory for them lol.
