Prednisolone - How long should I wait to give after insulin shot?

Hi There!

Quick question: Cleo takes 1ml of pred. for asthma every evening between 7-9 pm. I have just (tonight) started her insulin shots....7:30 time. In that, how long should I wait or do I have to wait at all to give her the pred? Anyone with experience in this??

I am very familiar with asthma. My kitty has had it for 2 years and has been on pred during this time. However, I am NEW to diabetes and am curious as to the length of time between giving insulin and pred.

I will just my vet and will update with answer, in hopes this info might be helpful to others.

Sorry, I was not trying to insult your experience with asthma. I just thought you might be able to get some tips from the video since you mentioned that your cat is on a steroid for it. The video mentions those being used for a crisis but being short term until the trigger for the crises can be diagnosed and addressed.

FYI: I just spoke with my vet. It is fine to give insulin and prednisolone around the same time. :D

I hope this information is helpful for someone in the future. :cat:
