Sorry for having a second post today but this is a separate question.
I was hoping for input from those who have dealt with pancreatitis.
Since there is a pre-diabetes in humans, I think there would also be one on cats but most of us don't recognize any symptoms at all until we get
to the too much pee/ hungry all the time stage.
So I would think that would also apply to pancreatitis which is also recognized after it exists.
Would you think back now... ( hindsite being 20/20  )
Do you remember any clues?
Please share...
I"m wondering since I'm exploring possibilities for what's going on with my own cat.
My thought is her "pickiness" isn't too far away from what many of you have described as a sign of nausea.
Shadow smells her food when I set it down in front of her like ... "really mom, I'm tired of that flavor" and sometimes walks away
and I'm wondering if that might be an earlier form of the lip licking that you all mention associated with nausea.
I don't think she has nausea...
but unappetizing food seems like it could be a precurser to nausea to me.
I find myself having to spruce up the offering with crumbs... she eats part of it...
and I spruce it up again, add a little more water and something else ... and she eats some more....
and so on.... and it seems to be increasing incrementally over time
so it makes me wonder....
of course , she could just be the Queen of the Picky Eaters.
but I sure am tempted to have them add the test on her blood work next week.
Signed,
she who grasps at straws
