pre-dental clindamycin AB

Buddy has dental appt next friday , routine cleaning, vet said no infection present now but gums alittle cruddy and reddish.
she did NOT prescribe clindamycin beforehand, but when i mentioned he had it last time for 5 days before,
she said to pick some up this time.It's $35 , so i don't wan to give it if i dont have to. if no infection present , is it really necessary?

Some vets pretreat but most do not. Pretreating with no active infections seems to be declining. Since your vet did no propose it initially this time I would opt not to pretreat.
