Prazosin

My civvie cat, Mouse, is taking Prazosin for Cystitis. She has slowed way down in her eating. She gets Mirataz daily lately and it isn't doing much at all. I spend most of my day coaxing her to eat. Some days she does okay, some days not much goes in. Does Prazosin cause this? Trying not to freak out.

The side effects of the drug are:
Dizziness, lightheadedness, headache, drowsiness, lack of energy, weakness, palpitation, nausea.

Maybe nausea is the problem. I would get a script for the human drug ondansetron. It is not that expensive especially if you get 30 tablets since that is an entire bottle for the human drug.

She's taking Zofron. I'm going to start giving her a dose midday and see what happens. Also-Chewy sells it for 19 cents a pill!

HOw much are you giving and how ofter? For most cats 2mg twice daily is a good dose.

She's been taking 2 mg 2x a day for a couple months. Today I gave her 2mg at midday. Seems to have helped. She's eating 1 TB of baby turkey pretty much every hour. And she's come looking for food 3 times. Progress!
