Sending a ton of prayers to St Francis for you and Klinger.. Please let us know how he is doing. I am lighting a candle for him too. :YMHUG:

Thank you so much for the good thoughts and prayers. Sorry it's taken me so long to post. It was a late night and we all went back to bed after the 4:00 am test, feed (no shot Klinger was 53!). The vet dx it as a collapse/fainting episode due to underlying heart disease. I was petting him on the bed and all of a sudden he collapsed/seized and when he came out of it, he started panting and crying. It was freaky. We rushed off to the er vet, which is about 25 minutes away and I didn't think he would make it. He open mouthed panted with his tongue out all the way. (sorry for the details). About a block away his breathing improved. The doc examined him and his heart rate was slightly decreased. The xray showed advanced heart disease and some fluid that they gave him lasix to get rid of. He has a follow up with the cardiologist on Monday. He doesn't seem "right" to me.

Marcy, I am so sorry that Klinger is going through this. It sounds very, very scary. I hope they can adjust his diltizem or something to make his heart work better. I know that HCM is a crap shoot though. I will be keeping good thoughts for him, and you.

Continued healing vines for our favorite white kitty in Colorado! Keep us tuned in (both here & FB/Acro). (((Marcy)))

Marcy -I rarely check in these days but just did now ---
my thoughts are definately with you and your boy Klinger today.
hugs and prayers your way.

Marcy, I am so sorry you are going through this. If we've learned one important thing about Klinger, it is that he is a fighter. Prayers and healing thoughts for you and your boy,

We met with the cardiologist yesterday. She did a recheck scanning echo, EKG, and took his blood pressure and all results were actually good. So, what caused the episode? We don't know. She took blood work thinking that maybe it's something as simple as his electrolytes are out of whack. If they don't find anything in the blood, her next suggestion is to see a neurologist. But there were no signs of clots in his heart or residue from a clot starting to form. So, that's great news. :-D But what was the cause? $700 later, I would have hoped to have more of a definitive answer. Thanks for all the good thoughts and prayers. I was able to go back with him while he was having his tests. He was crazy. Poor boy. I was able to hold him and only got punched in the face twice. He has a mean left hook.

The cardiologist left a message that Klinger's blood work and chem panel are normal except for his liver value. Last year it was 300 and now it's 600. nailbite_smile I did get in touch with the cardiologist about his liver value. She does not believe this is what caused his episode the other night. They can't prescribe treatment based solely on blood values, which means another ultrasound and potential biopsy. So, she referred me back to Klinger's Internal specialist. I asked about hepatic lipidosis and she said that she did not see signs of that the other day, but to talk with the IS. So...that's it for now. More to come.

Hi Marcy- i actually just came on baord to check any updates as you were writig this!
I think it's actually very good news - was worried it may ahve been soooo much worse . Between your superior care
and his determination, he may be around for a verrrry long time to come...paws crossed!

Sometimes seizures just happen and never happen again, but having a pituitary tumor complicates things.

My sister, who was dx with acro about 5 years ago had a seizure that they "couldn't find a cause on" I remember the ER doc saying, "do you know about the brain tumor?" like it was nothing.

It's good that they don't think it was a stroke.

You might ask the internist about giving him Denamarin. When Cami's liver values were high I asked about it and the internist thought it was a good idea. Cami's liver values were all normal 3 weeks later.

Sending good thoughts Klinger's way.
