Yay! I was finally able to get enough blood to get a reading for Jack this morning, and it was 155. I don't have his insulin yet, but even if I did, this would have been too low to shoot him. At the vets, 9 days ago, his BG was well over 400. His fructosamine was over 700. Since the testing, I removed all dry and put him on Fancy Feast. Could this be the reason why his numbers are lower? I know he's not feeling great, as he's still peeing heavy and his neuropathy, in his back legs, is pretty bad. He has dropped five pounds since October. When he saw the vet in October, he also was not diabetic. They did both a BG reading and his fructosamine level. He was there because he was sick and we thought perhaps he had cancer. His stomach was bloated, his spleen was enlarged, and he was very constipated. He's no longer constipated and he's dropped 5 lb since that time. I guess I'm a little confused about what's going on right now. I guess I'm wondering if he really has diabetes at all, or if there's something else happening here? His insulin should be here tonight, and I'll keep testing his BG. I just want my little guy to be okay.
